According to the Delhi Police, the threat has been issued by the pro-Khalistan outfit – SFJ or ‘Sikhs For Justice’ that said they would not allow the Air India flight to reach the United Kingdom’s national capital.

“We have got inputs that Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) has threatened that two Air India flights scheduled for London tomorrow won’t be allowed to operate. The security has been tightened,” Rajeev Ranjan, DCP, Indira Gandhi International Airport told news agency ANI.

“We have increased the security level. An airport is a sensitive place by default. We are coordinating this matter,” he added.

SFJ is banned in India for anti-India Activities

SFJ or Sikhs For Justice is a US-based pro-Khalistan, separatist group founded by Gurpatwant Singh Pannu and is banned by India.

In a video message, SFJ general counsel Gurpatwant Singh Pannun stated that “it is a humanitarian obligation to expose the cover-up of Sikh genocide by successive Indian regimes”.

He urged the passengers of Air India to side with the victims of violence by boycotting the flights AI-111 and AI-531 on November 5.

Soon after the information received, intelligence wings alerted the Delhi Police, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and IGI authority as well as other concerned officials to foil the SFJ’s plan and avoid any unprecedented incident in Delhi.

The call by SFJ has come ahead of its earlier announcement to hold its “Referendum-2020” campaign in November this year.

The banned group is already on the radar of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the action is being taken against its key leaders – Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and Hardeep Singh Nijjar, for their ongoing anti-India activities.
