With 30,093 fresh Covid cases, India reported the lowest new daily cases in over 4 months

Coronavirus Update in India: India reported a decline in daily coronavirus cases as well as daily deaths on Tuesday as per the health ministry’s bulletin. As per the 9 am data, India reported 30,093 new COVID-19 cases and 374 fatalities in the last 24 hours (the lowest in 4 months).

The country’s active caseload has now come down to 4,06,130, which, the Health Ministry said is the lowest in 117 days. The national weekly positivity rate currently stands at 2.06 % and the daily positivity rate is at 1.68 %.

The last time India’s Covid-19 tally was below 30,000-mark was on March 16 when the country saw 28,903 fresh cases. India witnessed deaths below 400 on March 30 when 354 fatalities were recorded. 


Covid-19 Vaccination Update in India


Up to 41.18 crore vaccine doses administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive that began in January this year, government data shows. In the past 24 hours alone, 52,67,309 vaccinations were carried out.


The testing capacity has been substantially ramped up. Up to 44.73 crore tests have been conducted till now.WHO Southeast Asia Regional Director Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh has said India has been offered 7.5 million doses of Moderna vaccine through COVAX.

WHO experts are considering Emergency Use Listing of Covaxin, made by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech, Dr. Singh has said.

Flights from India to the USA and Canada

The US has improved the travel advisory for India, lowering it from the highest Level 4, which means no travel, to Level 3, which urges citizens to reconsider travel. Students who were waiting to travel to the USA are rushing to book their flights in August. However, Canada has suspended flights from India until August 21, 2021, the government of Canada said today.
