US Election Results 2020: The United States Election 2020 results are looking closely for a clear outcome. The presidential candidate from the Democratic Party, Joe Biden, is now inching closer to winning the US presidential election in 2020. The latest count of votes from a handful of battleground states indicated that the re-election chances of incumbent Republican President Donald Trump are getting slim by the hour.
The outcome of the election depends on the four key battleground states of Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.
At present, Joe Biden has won 264 electoral college votes against Trump’s 214. He has garnered 50.5 percent of the vote (7,34,86,646) while Trump has won 47.9 percent (6,96,22,185). Joe Biden continues to lead in Arizona and Nevada, thereby narrowing the chance of Donald Trump of getting a second term in the White House.
Why Pennsylvania is crucial?
If Democrat’s candidate Joe Biden is able to flip Pennsylvania, Donald Trump would lose the election irrespective of winning the remaining key states.
Joe Biden has taken the early lead in Pennsylvania
If Biden wins Pennsylvania, he wins the White House. For Donald Trump, the state is a must-win for any chance to stay in the game. Pennsylvania State gives the winner 20 electoral votes.
President Donald Trump, 56 votes short and on an increasingly narrow path to re-election, called for vote recounts and for stopping counts and filed lawsuits alleging election fraud.
Donald Trump said – “If you count the legal vote, I easily win. If you count the illegal votes, they can try to steal the election from us.”
He added, “the election might end at the highest court of land”.
Meanwhile, 19 former United States attorneys all of whom served under Republican presidents released a statement on Thursday calling President Trump’s legal threats, claims of fraud, and false declarations of victory “premature, baseless and reckless.”
